Baja California · Baja California Sur · Road & Ferry Delivery from Sonora
Prefab steel workshops, boat storage buildings, garages and warehouses engineered and fabricated in Hermosillo, Sonora — across the Sea of Cortez from the peninsula — and delivered by road to Mexicali, Tijuana and Ensenada or by ferry to Loreto, La Paz, Los Barriles and Los Cabos. Engineered for coastal wind and salt air. English-speaking engineers, USD quotes, kit-only or turnkey.
Have dimensions already? Standard footprints like a 40×80 boat-storage building or a 30×40 workshop quote fastest.
Baja California has almost no pre-engineered building manufacturing of its own: steel for the peninsula is either trucked down from the US border or shipped across the Gulf from the mainland. Our plant sits in Hermosillo, 90 miles from the Guaymas ferry dock and on the same highway that feeds Mexicali and Tijuana — so a building engineered and fabricated here reaches any Baja site with one crossing instead of an import.
Mexican-origin steel stays inside Mexico: no US export paperwork, no pedimento at the border, no duty. The ferry ticket is the only extra line.
We build on the Sea of Cortez already — hotel work on the water in San Carlos, Sonora — so galvanized, marine-paint and stainless-fastener packages are standard options, not custom requests.
Structural calculation, plans and material certificates in the format Baja municipalities ask for with the licencia de construcción, plus English copies for you.
| Destination | State | Route | Typical transit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mexicali · San Felipe | Baja California | Road — Federal Hwy 2 from Hermosillo | Flatbed, 1 day |
| Tijuana · Rosarito · Ensenada | Baja California | Road — Hwy 2 to Tijuana, Hwy 1 south | Flatbed, 1–2 days |
| Santa Rosalía · Mulegé · Loreto | Baja California Sur | Guaymas–Santa Rosalía ferry, then Hwy 1 | Flatbed on ferry, 2–3 days |
| La Paz · Los Barriles · Todos Santos | Baja California Sur | Guaymas–Santa Rosalía ferry + Hwy 1, or Topolobampo–La Paz ferry | 2–4 days |
| San José del Cabo · Cabo San Lucas | Baja California Sur | Ferry to La Paz, then Hwy 1 / Hwy 19 | 3–4 days |
Transit times are planning figures from the day the load leaves Hermosillo; ferry schedules vary by season. Frames ship first so your slab and erection crew never wait on panels.

Baja California Sur sits in the Pacific hurricane track. Buildings for La Paz, Los Barriles and Los Cabos are designed to the site's wind speed with heavier purlin-to-frame and anchor connections — and the design is documented in the calc package.
Within a few hundred meters of the water: hot-dip galvanized secondary framing, epoxy-polyurethane marine paint on primary frames, prepainted or Galvalume-type sheeting, stainless or long-life fasteners. Inland: standard galvanized-plus-primer.
Catamarans, sportfishers and fifth-wheels need volume, not floor area. We recommend 16–20 ft eaves and 14×16 ft gable doors for marine storage, framed into the kit from the start.
Insulated sandwich-panel roofs, ridge vents and translucent eave strips keep a Baja workshop usable in August. We quote single-skin and insulated envelopes side by side.
Read what to specify in hurricane-rated prefab steel warehouses before you compare quotes.
Clear-span buildings with 16–20 ft eaves and wide gable-end doors for yard workspace, hull storage and marine workshops in La Paz, Los Barriles and San Carlos.
30×40 to 40×80 steel buildings for expat and Mexican homeowners: vehicle and RV storage, hobby shops, casita-ready shells.
5,000–20,000 sq ft prefab warehouses for distributors, building suppliers and 3PLs serving the growing Los Cabos and La Paz markets.
Laundries, maintenance shops, storage and staff buildings for resorts — fast, dry construction that does not disrupt guests.
Packing sheds, cold-storage shells and shade structures for the Vizcaíno and Santo Domingo valleys and the Ensenada wine region.
Maintenance shops, warehouses and canopies for mining and energy operations across both Baja states.
Frames, purlins and girts, panels, trim, fasteners, anchor bolts, erection drawings and the calculation package. You or your local builder pour the slab and erect with our phone support. Best for workshops, garages and boat storage where a local crew and a rented telehandler are enough.
Design, foundations, fabrication, erection and envelope by SQ Tech, with our own crews from Sonora or vetted Baja partners. One contract, one schedule, one engineer. Best for warehouses, packing sheds, resort back-of-house and anything with a crane, mezzanine or office fit-out.
Tell us the town, the footprint and what goes inside. We reply within 24 business hours with a kit and a turnkey option where both make sense.
