It is the most common request from owners who want a workshop, a hobby garage, or secure equipment storage on a rural or light-commercial lot, and it is small enough that a two-person crew with a telehandler can erect it in a few days once the slab is cured.

At 30 ft wide the frame can be a single clear span with no interior columns, which keeps the floor fully usable for vehicles or racking.
A 12 ft eave is the sweet spot if you plan a 10 ft door and any overhead storage; 14 ft if you ever want a vehicle lift.
Because the tonnage is low, freight is a large share of landed cost — combining a 30×40 with a second building or with fabricated steel on the same truck lowers cost per pound noticeably.
